The Bird In Hand Public House

Austrey    CV9 3EB

-------
The Bird is a 15th century thatched pub with original features and gas fires in the bar and lounge.

Adjoining the bar is the snug, a semi-private room with a large round table for larger groups whilst alongside the lounge (in what used to be part of the old cellar) are two alcoves giving a little more privacy and can seat 12 – 15 people. We have a separate restaurant seating over 20 people also with an alcove giving views of nearby Saint Nicholas Church.

Situated at the northernmost tip of Warwickshire, surrounded by rural Leicestershire, Staffordshire and South Derbyshire, Austrey is only two miles from the National Forest.

An attractive village clustered around a picturesque 13th century church and thatched pub, Austrey has pleasant countryside views and a vibrant village community life.

Increasingly, we have found that ramblers and walkers are using our pub (with its extensive car park) as a starting point for the many lovely walks in our area, then finishing at our pub for a cosy, home-cooked lunch.

Home-cooked food

We specialise in home-cooked food and our pies are our signature dishes. During the summer months we have a good selection of salads and throughout the year fine steaks from local farms.

See our menus for details.

Wine, Beer and Ales

Our specialities are our Cask Marque ales.

You will always find Marston's Pedigree and a selection of Guest Ales from the Marston Group, including Jennings and Ringwood, available.

We held our first Beer Festival over the Royal Wedding weekend and it was so successful that we have decided to hold more. The next one is pencilled in for the August Bank Holiday weekend. See our Newsletter for details.

Also on draught, we have Banks's Original and Smooth, Guinness, Fosters, Carlsberg, Stella Artois, Strongbow Cider.

There is a good range of bottled wines, red white and rosé all of which are available by the glass or £11.95 per bottle.
